When it came down to making the draft of my music magazine I decided that I should look at some of the magazines that I have looked at for inspiration. I have taken some of the designs that they had in their magazines. I took the inspiration for the splash and sell lines to be in a kind of lightening bolt shape and the design of having a ripped bottom of the magazine to reveal the footer bar with some of the article that would be inside of my magazine.
The front cover was the page that I took the most time with as I want it to be the best that it can be. The front cover in my opinion is the most important as without a cover that interests readers and grabs their attention is not a good cover because it needs to draw in readers.
Here is my front cover I feel that I have done a good job in designing it because there is not that much dead space but it can end up different to what the end product will be. I think I will stay with the design because I think that it can drawn it readers with what it has on the cover. the only problem with all three drafts is that I have not put any colour so you cannot see what it would look like with colour.
The next page that I designed is the contents page. I do not really like the look of what I made here so it will more than likely look different when it comes to the end product. I took inspiration from the Q magazine as I liked the design but I am going to make it more in the theme of what the magazine is about.
The last page that I designed was the article. I like this as it is simple but with colour and the right person it could make an effective and interesting article as long as the actual article is interesting. For this page I took inspiration from the Kerrang magazine tribute of Lemmy as I thought that it was an effective design of a close up of the artist and an interesting article. I will however change the subsidiary image that I have put on there because I want the image to be personal to the artist that it is about.
